Top issues during term (8)(Roads)
Route 40 parking removal for bike lanes
About 100 metered spaces could be lost, cutting city parking revenue — and the state says it won't help fund parking decks.
Winter snow removal contracting
Roughly $85,000 in contractor and salt costs for this single storm, excluding city labor.
Residential permit parking near Meredith Park
Permits would be free the first time with a proposed $15 fee for a second; violators would face $50 first-offense fines rising to $100.
Street repaving plan for FY 2027-2029
About $1.3 million in highway user revenue is budgeted for FY27 pavement work.
Regional road capacity around Emmerich Road and Beaver Creek
Road improvements would likely come from county and state budgets, with some right-of-way dedication required of developers.
Street dedication and maintenance — Trolley and Corboy Drive
Ongoing maintenance costs now fall to the city, though no figures were given.
Historic Heights game-day parking
Permit fees ($0 first, $15 second) and proposed $50/$100 fines were on the table but deferred; only signage costs will be incurred now.
Northern Avenue sidewalk replacement
Funding would come from uncommitted highway user revenue the city already holds.
